WRONG GENERATION

Wrong Generation is bringing back the flair – and flare – of past decades one suit at a time. In a world where trends come and go, Founder Mia Lloyd-Ellis celebrates the timeless elegance and attitude of the past, bringing it into the present day with her unique designs. Her suits are statements of individuality and rebellion, embodying the spirit of a generation that dared to be different. From bold colours to impeccable fabric quality, Wrong Generation is what all London cool girls are wearing.

Originally from Northern England, Mia is a Chelsea girl through and through. Moving to the vibrant British capital at the age of 16 she found herself surrounded by the eclectic mix of art, fashion, and architecture unique to Chelsea, home to some of the most iconic shops of past decades. Mia’s creative passions were ignited as she enrolled into a degree of Styling and Photography at the prestigious Istituto Marangoni while working as a personal stylist on King’s Road. Yet, in 2019 she decided to take her knowledge, experience and love for vintage styles and founded the fashion label: Wrong Generation.  “Wrong Generation is a direct reference to how I feel as if I was born in the wrong decade. I’ve always felt like I’ve been older than my peers, not to sound clichéd but while people around me were gravitating to contemporary style-icons I found inspiration in Bridget Bardot. I’m fascinated by the boldness and vivacious air of the 60s and 70s,” says Mia. The apple didn’t fall far from the tree as Mia attributes her affinity for fashion to her ultimate style icon: her mum. “For as long as I can remember, I’ve rooted through my mum’s and even her mum’s wardrobe, looking for pieces that carry a sentimental value, but are equally made to last for years. I wanted to design something that would stand the test of time, and almost become an heirloom, something passed down to the generations to come,” says Mia.
