TALIA LEIGH

Meet Talia Leigh, a self-taught fashion designer who is about to welcome her third child into the world. Her journey started with making T-shirts and has now evolved into a unique clothing line that is all about vibrant colours, loud patterns, and risk-taking designs. Talia’s brand represents authenticity, freedom, and creativity, all inspired by her diverse background and life experiences.

Born and raised in Colorado, Talia’s artistic talents were influenced by her father and grandmother, who were artists themselves. She always felt as if there was a path for her in the creative arts, yet it was only after she found a paper crane, the symbol of her logo that it really came together. “I came across a paper crane which read, I don’t look good in photographs because I have the kind of beauty that moves, and that’s when it clicked and I realised that’s where my art belongs, it was meant to be worn,” says Talia. Driven by a new burst of excitement to create Talia started her business after dropping out of college following a very hands-on approach. “Failure was not an option for me,” she adds. Over the last 10 years, Talia’s company has grown steadily, but the last two years have been a turning point for her. Quitting her full-time job and putting all her energy into her business, Talia’s unique style and designs have flourished, with her SS23 collection debuting during NYFW and LAFW earlier this year.

Talia Leigh can be best described as kaleidoscopic, in every sense of the word. When asked about her ethos, Talia explains that her love for colours, patterns, and

textiles comes from her roots. With Native American

roots and Mexican heritage, Talia loves incorporating symbolic patterns and intricate beadwork into her designs. Yet the true origin of her fashion career was in music. “Music is how I got my start. I was involved in the music scene because of my love for creating incredible pieces that needed to be worn on stage. Musicians look to express themselves not only through song but also without using words, and that’s where I came in and never left.” Talia’s designs reflect this appreciation for visual stimulation, ensuring that whoever wears it is a walking work of art.
