Swapping out their usual city of Milan for New York, Moschino took over the – soaked – catwalk in the heart of the historic garment industry: Bryant Park. The unfortunate weather would show no battle against what was yet to come: a colourful display of Jeremy Scott’s ‘Baby Ladies’.

Opening the show, and setting the theme, was new-mum Gigi Hadid as she strutted across the slippery runway in a 1960s inspired two-piece fit for a lunch with the girls, of all ages. Bright pastels were detailed with vivid piping while playful quilting featured an array of animals, making numerous cameos as buttons, earrings, and bags. Sleek and elegant trench coats and dress-suits served as palette cleaners right before we were thrown into a nostalgia-vortex.

In true Jeremey Scott fashion, humour found its way on the stage in an elephant trunk that substituted a sleeve and Miss Hadid herself suckling on a milk bottle. Fancy wearing a dress with a puppy emblazoned across, we thought you would have never ask! Perhaps a sweetheart quilted dresses with an elephant and duck-skirt and feathered sleeves, yes please! Or how about a long-line dress on which bunny ears provide the optical illusions of sleeves, take our money already.

It was clear that Scott was dressing his ladies for comfort, and his Spring/Summer 2022 collection proved child’s play and he served light-hearted sixties sophistication.
